Abstract

This study aims to explore in depth their contributions to orchard yield and ecological balance by comparing the roles of bees and wild pollinators in orchard ecosystem services. In terms of bees, we have discussed in detail their diversity, behavioral characteristics, and their role in pollen propagation and fruit fertilization. The positive impact of bees on orchards is mainly reflected in improving fruit quality and increasing yield. Wild pollinators, on the other hand, have rich ecological roles and diversity, and exhibit different but equally important pollination effects in orchards compared to bees. We further analyzed their contributions in maintaining ecological balance and promoting biodiversity. The comparative analysis highlights the similarities and differences between the two in terms of ecosystem service effectiveness, environmental impact, and sustainability, emphasizing the importance of comprehensive utilization of bees and wild pollinators in orchard management. The conclusion summarizes the roles of both in orchards, providing useful insights for future orchard management and ecological protection.
